Tujuan dari Buku ini adalah untuk memfasilitasi belajar siswa dan menyediakan alat-alat dan informasi untuk menganalisis kompleksitas politik dunia, buku ini disusun dalam lima  Bagian.
Bagian 1 memperkenalkan konsep pusat penting untuk memahami politik dunia, tren global, dan maknanya. Hal ini memperkenalkan teori terkemuka digunakan untuk menafsirkan hubungan internasional. Bagian 2 membahas transnasional seluruh dunia  kekuatan aktor besar, negara-negara kurang berkembang dari "Global South, "  intergovernmental organizations (IGO), dan nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
