Buku ini membahas beberapa pertanyaan berkaitan dengan studi emosi dalam konteks pendidikan saat ini. Dikemukakan dalam buku ini bahwa telah ada peningkatan yang signifikan pada minat penelitian pendidikan pada emosi. Bahkan, tahun 2005 adalah tahun pertama di mana emosi jangka panjang dan regulasi emosional termasuk dalam daftar deskriptor untuk proposal yang diajukan untuk Pertemuan tahunan Asosiasi Amerika Penelitian Pendidikan.
