CJ Simister adalah direktur Programme of Thinking and Learning Skills di Northwood College, Middlesex. Dia berpengalaman luas sebagai guru dan memperoleh pengalaman luas tentang praktek  di kelas, ia menangani murid dari usia dini. Setelah memperoleh gelar Master School Effectiveness and Improvement di Institute of Education di London, Pada tahun 2004 ia menerbitkan makalah di bidang kemampuan berpikir dan pendidikan berbakat yang menenmpatkan ia pada posisinya saat ini. Program Lanjutan Pengembangan Kognitif di Northwood College’s  diterbitkan di majalah Teaching Thinking and Creativity. Program itu dipresentasikan pada Konferensi Internasional tentang Keterampilan Berpikir di Melbourne pada bulan Juli 2005 dan memimpin sebuah konferensi tentang kemampuan berpikir di Singapura Maret 2006. CJ Simister juga mengikuti lokakarya acara liburan tentang Berpikir  Kreatif dan Berpikir kritis, ia juga menjalin hubungan dengan National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC) .

Lingkup Pembahasan:
Buku ini berfokus tentang berpikir tingkat tinggi meliputi berpikir kreatif dan berpikir kritis. Buku ini mengemukakan tentang pentingnya mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinngi. Pembahasan meliputi latar belakang pengembangan keterampilan berpikir, bagaimana cara mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir pada anak dan siswa serta tujuan pengembangan keterampian berpikir. Buku ini ujuga menyajikan instrument untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir.
